Sree Vadasserikavu Temple is one of the famous Bhadra Kali temple in Kerala, this temple is also famous for the Padayani festival. Vadasserikavu Padayani, is one of the famous Padayani festivals celebrated in Central Travancore with some unique kolams. Every year all varieties of kolams are manifested at Vadasserikavu and Bhadrakali Kolam is the special kolam here which is not usually performed in other devi temples in Kerala. The festival is celebrated for eight days prior to Bharani asterism in the Malayalam month of Meenam 4 days cheriya padayani and 4 days valiya padayani. The image of Goddess of Bhadrakali is drawn in the Kolam Bhadrakali Kolam. Other kolams performing here are the Anthara Yakshi, Kuthira, Kaalan Kolam, Bhairavi, Pisachu, and Marutha etc. Guruthi is the one of the main and famous vazhipade for Bhadrakali in this temple. Lord Subrahmanya is also one of the main presence in the temple, the annual Thaipooyam Festival held in honour of Lord Subrahmanya.
Most of the festivals take place between February and April every year
Meena Bharani commences on the Revathy in the month of Meenam and concludes on the Bharani day. Padayani is also related with the month of Meenam. On that day special vows like Anpoli and Alpindi are mainly performed for the Goddess
Padayani is a traditional folk dance and a ritual art from the central portion of Kerala. A ceremonial dance involving masks, it is an ancient ritual performed in Bhagavati temples. The dance is performed in honor of Bhadrakali. The festival is celebrated for eight days prior to Bharani asterism in the Malayalam month of Meenam
The annual Thaipooyam Festival held in honour of Lord Subrahmanya, the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvathi, draws in large crowds from around the State. There devotees offer many forms of Kavadi and other vows to the Lord on that day
